The conception of the Tokyo Tower came about in the 1950s, during a time when Japan was looking to assert itself on the world stage. Architect Tachū Naito designed the tower, which was completed in only a year and a half! Originally, it was built mainly for broadcasting purposes, as television was becoming increasingly popular, and the area needed a reliable transmission tower. Over the decades, the tower has undergone renovations and retrofits to maintain its charm and utility.

For all visitors, the experience begins with a quick journey up to the observation decks, located at 150 and 250 meters above ground. From there, you can catch a panoramic view of the city, including landmarks like the Sky Tree, the Imperial Palace, and on clear days, even Mount Fuji which is about 60 miles away! It also has unique features such as the glass-floor observation area and seasonal illuminations that light up the night sky as well as museums, shops, and restaurants.
